The psychological definition of stress is the failure to objectify responsibility.
I mention this here because working as a developer for a non-technical company means being an afterthought a lot of the time. Folks don't seem to understand that what we do is challenging and takes time."

This is a consistent challenge in non-technical companies, but the stress and requirements around productivity are generally much more manageable compared to a similar position at a technical company-- but only if you can gain the trust and respect of your managers. ...gaining that trust and respect requires a lot of careful communication... or you end up getting steamrolled and thrown under the bus.
