I've recently noticed that some accounts seem to have only a fraction of their posts actually reach me on one instance, while another instance will have the entire thread and all posts.
On treehouse.systems (my main), for example, I only get a fraction of Foone's (@digipres.club) boosts and posts, but *do* get some of them, and can see the posts I'm "missing" by viewing profile
While on awoo.space (my alt) they all come through with none missing (at least from cursory examination)
I couldn't find an existing 3rd party tool for downloading your Private Mentions* to archive everything before my old instance goes down
(* none that'd preserve the entire thread and both sides of the conversation)
So I made a nicely formatted text log for the first set of PMs, which took forever
Then got lazy and just grabbed the raw html from the <div> containing the PMs column on the webview and did that for the other PMs I wanted to keep records of ^_^;
So as some of y'all likely heard, queer.af got tali-banned a bit ahead of schedule as the domain was taken down
Huge props to Erin in getting folks to migrate as soon as the news hit and for the many federated instances who did their networking magic on their end to make sure people could still migrate properly
I ended up using social.treehouse.systems (@hokaze@treehouse.systems) as my account to migrate to that's had all my followers and such inherited, but might still maintain this account as an alt
Hello World!
Testing out a few different Fediverse servers friends have recommended me, as my original home, queer.af, will be closing down soon
(https://queer.af/@postmaster/111733741786950083)
Going to test a few things, figure out which space seems best and at some point in the next month or so do a proper account migration
(although tbh, awoo will almost certainly be an alt account rather than my main migration to maintain ties here due to the federation allowlist)
Struggling with MH, it's a fight to get up each day. Roll Initiative.
My agenda just has the word "gender???" circled and underlined for some reason?
