@distressedegg I mean I do also believe that the "I'm just here for the art" folks exist, phantomlike, at the fringes, even now. But yeah, agreed. :)
💭 If the characters used to represent and promote organized proto-furry meets were like, weird colorful psychic alien hybrid critters, does that mean postfurry has existed as long as furry has?

I get the impression that in the early days, lots of folks had their own terminology they'd use; in the ensuing wiki crawl from there I was reminded that Ken Sample originally termed his as "Exotics" for instance.
@distressedegg @ComputerHusband @korki@glitch.social
Basically a somewhat setting-specific term for scientifically-produced animal-human hybrids, shortened off "recombinant"; it was a pretty common 'technical term' used in 90's furry fiction and as such you'd see it used some on FurryMUCK, etc, sometimes. I actually know someone there who still has it in their species field.
@distressedegg It's okay, you got better. 💜
@icefoxx That sounds really cool and I'd love to hear more! I have my own otherworld desert city that I wander around in too, though mine skews a lot more toward the urban fantasy (crossed with my experiences growing up in Santa Fe)
@icefoxx I am pretty sure I would be way into this. Do you have any more info about the setting anywhere?
Half-baked essay thoughts
* That cleanly brings us right back around to the main point; dirt/earthiness
* Sometimes you gotta get mundane. Sometimes you get mundane when you don't want to.
* Either way it's a good idea to have a notion of how to get back out of it when you don't want it anymore.
Half-baked essay thoughts
Reclaiming (and banishing) Mundanity
* Writing off someone as "just some Mundane" is right out.
* But look at the root of the word; mundus; world; earth
* A tangent: Lots of spiritual/woo stuff talks about "purification", there's arguments back and forth about whether this is puritan horseshit or value-neutral hygienics.
* I like to think of it in terms of what goes in what place. Dirt is a great and good thing when you're working in the garden, but less welcome inside
Work update: Presentation went excellently! As in, folks saying "I've never seen an interview with [that VP] go so well before" excellently. c.c.
Thank you all for your help! ^.^
[1.Ch.] Autistic perspectives on allistic behavior
"It’s hard to resist the impression that they’re numb, or unreal somehow. They are certainly displaying a lack of affect in the face of extreme provocation. Where I am in constant movement; they are somehow still."

Yeah this is an excellent example of the different use-cases for invocation vs. evocation
The invocation is "hey spirits of constructive work and calm balance, be close here with me."
The evocation is "Hey megacorp egregore, you sit over THERE and let's have a talk" ;)
@zebratron2084 @anthracite To be clear, this was not a petting, this was "The circle is in the triangle and you are in the circle and I speak to you with the authority of all the hours I've burnt for you over the past 5 years so you better listen" ^.^
@troodon The unbegrudging continuation of my employment here comes to mind. ;)
Relatedly, I could use any good vibes and positive energy and helpful spirits that anyone might have available. ^.^
(I am also doing invocation of actually-helpful entities as well, if anyone's concerned. :))
