@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Relatedly, y'know what I did JUST LAST NIGHT? Agreed that I wouldn't touch any more book-reading until I spent a week just focusing on basic meditation and stuff. And then I get on here and find @MinUmbra's stuff.

(Thank you very much Coyote, you mangy roadkill-eater, I hope your tail keeps smoldering forever. ;))

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town That's the Coyote Way!™ (So probably Loki's too. ;))

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Honestly I think if I didn't, it'd stop happening; not gonna say 'gods only give you what you can handle' as a general rule, but it's not really in their best interest to permanently fuck over the folks who are interested in them, y'know?

Feedback helpful, do follow/boost as we intend to release more subjects at a rate based on feedback (ideally every hourish for a while)

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Hey, after the first couple times getting (literally) knocked on your ass by a knowledge-dump that doesn't even fit into language, you get used to it. ;)

At least That One respects boundaries (boundaries are a liminal thing too); it's only ever happened in my room or other ritual space (if you count raves as ritual space (which I do)).

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Relatedly probably why my actual patron (Not Coyote, our relationship is different, this whole thing is very complicated) is an intensely liminal one who doesn't ever deal in names or even WORDS.

...So, y'know, that's fun.

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town ...Meaning basically I'm generally left feeling close to the deities who are themselves on the fringes of their cultures. Outcasts, tricksters and liminal deities, and Janus is very much the latter! ;)

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Actually that makes total sense to me? I've been sitting here thinking about the whole thing for the past few minutes and it's like... I always attributed my failure to connect to having a lot to do with how much pantheons are tied to the values of the cultures they were a part of. And I don't think any of those cultures would have me as a member-in-good-standing...

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Yup, there we go, I have some of that going on too; I have a long-standing major failure to connect with p.much anyone from any established pantheon, except for occasional task-related things.

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town My sympathies. ;) Coyote grabbed hold of me early, so I expect we have some similar experiences. ;)

Hey look I can say UX here without getting a bunch of shitty tech-industry auto-follows. XD

Major shout-out too to @Gargron and the rest of the Discord for being open and receptive to someone who wants to contribute to OS projects but is mainly good at drawing rectangles and fiddling with pixels (i.e UX design)

(ways = days (please please let me edit toots. u.u))

In other related pleasant news, the reason I was behind wasn't like "I can't bear to deal with internet" so much as it was doing stuff like hanging with friends, doing spiritwork stuff annnnd contributing to Mastodon!

Catching back up on Masto stuff over the last few ways is a BIT overwhelming, but only because I like... actually want to do it?

Whereas if I skipped checking birdside for more than a couple hours it was like 'fuck it, scroll to top'

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town Yeah at this point I'm basically... a semi-hard polytheist spiritworker who just happens to use quite a bit of chaos magic tech? Which means probably EVERYONE is apt to roll their eyes at me. ;)

@spiderrobotpig@witches.town @MinUmbra Oh hey maybe I need to read Angel Tech (Just heard of it a couple weeks ago) I got into all this stuff via Chaos Magic but 'become as gods' just doesn't really vibe with me?

@MinUmbra This is EXACTLY the sort of content I want to see on all my social feeds. :D

@starkatt @MinUmbra Literally what I was going to ask for. Also just 'general animism' ;)

@forestservice I actually do the same exact thing when I talk about my anxiety stuff? What I have aren't really "panic attacks" either, they're not runaway positive feedback about physiological symptoms, they're just... attacks of panic.

I feel like we're saddled with a lot of not-great terminology from the days of "we barely know anything" medical science. Tangentially, that's why I was actually really glad for things like the redefinition of Asperger's under autism for instance.

Hey awoo.space, here I am! Reading your local timeline is a lot more fun than it was on a big huge .social instance. :purple_heart:
