Work update: Presentation went excellently! As in, folks saying "I've never seen an interview with [that VP] go so well before" excellently. c.c.
Thank you all for your help! ^.^
[1.Ch.] Autistic perspectives on allistic behavior
"It’s hard to resist the impression that they’re numb, or unreal somehow. They are certainly displaying a lack of affect in the face of extreme provocation. Where I am in constant movement; they are somehow still."

Relatedly, I could use any good vibes and positive energy and helpful spirits that anyone might have available. ^.^
(I am also doing invocation of actually-helpful entities as well, if anyone's concerned. :))

Relatedly, Susan Hawkins comes with my HIGHEST recommendations as a surgery-letter-writer. She has two doctorates, one of them in law. I feel like I now literally have a legal case written for my surgery. XD
Anyway, welcome to "Indi flops in several plushful positions in the toy pile until ve works up the energy to have a food"

Like for serious, how do I thread the needle between "Bring back the cool retro web from when I was a kid, nostalgia nostalgia nostalgia" and "The modern web is user-hostile actually, because capitalism"
Dayjob rant
He comes back and says “Yeah we tried that, they’re slow, do you have any cycles yourself.”
Can you FUCKING IMAGINE someone asking for developer help that way.
“Hello programmer who’s not on our team, please come over and do work for us anyway.”
Gee I wonder if they're doing any better these days about how they look at design as a discipline.
Dayjob rant
Oh lovely. The VP for my old team, which I left because they gave zero shits about design as a discipline (and have continued to do so to the point where the person who joined after me left too) just emailed me saying “Hey we need UX help, do you no anyone who's looking."
I say no, and think (but do not say) how much I would not recommend that team to any designers in the first place. I point him to the core design team, which is how that stuff is supposed to work.
Seattle-pol, historic landmarks, something you can do about it
The historic Showbox music hall (which has just recently turned 79) is scheduled for demolition for some shitty gentrifying apartment blocks.
There's a petition linked in the toot below, I'm not sure if there's anything else you can do about it, I'm guessing you should keep your eyes peeled.
