Any round that has the KE to literally, physically stop someone by the force of it's impact, is going to bowl the shooter over backwards.
Guns stop people by injuring them so badly they can not function, much like knifes, the key factors of a gun killing someone is penetration and following that how large of a cavity it carves, through something vital like CNS or major blood vessels.

@IrisKalmia I honestly hate guns. If I could snap my fingers and make them all disappear, I'd do it without a second thought.
The only reason guns are championed as personal defense weapons so much in the US is because the US has been in a cold war with itself since its founding. The mentality that "the only way to defend yourself and others from a shooter is by shooting them first" runs deep in our culture.
"We have to have guns because /they/ have guns, y'see."

@mawr I am *totally* aware of that! I used to be a gun nut! It still shines straight through if i get going on the subject. And yeah, if I could, I'd very strongly consider it.
If I had that magic though, I'd snap it to make everyone housed, clothed and fed first... It'd probably save a lot more lives than any weapons control program ;-;
