Former landlord gripes, money
@adeptomega According to the Maryland Attorney General:
"The landlord must return a tenant's security deposit plus interest, less any damages rightfully withheld, within 45 days after the tenancy ends. If the landlord fails to do this without a good reason, you may sue for up to three times the withheld amount, plus reasonable attorney's fees."

@mawr @adeptomega It would also be a good idea to send this both in email and as a physical copy mailed certified mail (so that proof of delivery is available should you need to pull him into small claims court).

(I was actually just making that suggestion in a 3rd toot as you sent this. Kudos! ♥️)

@adeptomega Remind your ex-landlord of this, and include cited sources so they know you're serious. Remain polite in tone, but clear in purpose. Example:
"I hate to take such a serious tone with this as we've had an amicable relationship up to this point, but I really need that money back, and Maryland tenant law is very clear on the requirement that you provide it to me in the next 5 days. If I don't hear from you by then, I will be forced to pursue legal action."
