The only good use of quote-tweet is relaying good art posts twice.

@IrisKalmia Also:

"Hey frens please look at this thing because of <specific reasons>"

@kellerfuchs @mawr The ability to add content warnings to a boost would be *so good* for mastodon. So very good.

"Well, this is an interesting post but I try to CW this topic sooo... Welp, guess it goes unshared" is SUCH a common thing for me ;-;

@IrisKalmia @kellerfuchs @mawr yeah

i desperately want to know how we can get something like this without the potential for abuse like quote tweets :/

@bea @IrisKalmia @kellerfuchs My thoughts: The potential for abuse is ever present in any feature set; the solution is moderation, and Mastodon's tools can be adequate if users use that report feature when they should :3

@mawr @IrisKalmia @kellerfuchs this is very true but moderation is not only work but emotional labour

a somewhat precious and scarce resource

by designing the software in certain ways we can hopefully keep the demand for moderation from outstripping the supply

it's why i don't say no, it's not ok we shouldn't do this or yeah this is good and we should have it

this will shift a delicate balance in some unpredictable way and i can't chart a path through it

so i wish we could do better is all.
