Fighting game rant

Ugh, the more I think about it, the more Street Fighter is beginning to disappoint me as a fighting game. I feel its approach to raising the skill ceiling is arbitrary and harmful to new players, compared to other fighting games.
In Street Fighter, the combos are easy to conceptualize, but hard to execute, whereas a game like Dragon Ball FighterZ has combos that are hard to conceptualize but easy to execute. The difference is moving the difficulty from physical to mental.

re: Fighting game rant

Fighting games will always have to balance execution with decision making. I think the series that purported to be the number 1 fighting game should make some changes to remove barrier to entry. It's telling that FighterZ had more entries at EVO, and I wonder if execution was a factor.
