Seattle loc; Mahjong

I just played in a casual local Riichi Mahjong meetup!

I've been kinda stuck on this game for a while now, bouncing between online clients mostly (attempting to see what one would suit a hypothetical online Mahjong night with friends), and this is the first time I've got to sit down with folks who really know what they're doing.

A couple of the folks there actually are worldwide tournament players, and have gone to places like Paris to play, so I was certainly in the right hands!

The Saturday meetups they have going are designed for newer players or complete beginners. They helped out with even basic stuff, like tile/wall handling (I managed to overcome a lot of initial clumsiness!). They also helped me look at the discards everyone was making in a more productive fashion.

I'd definitely recommend it for folks who want to give this game a shot, or have a casual place to play locally!
