Better PS1 Haunted Demo Disc Reccomendations

Agony of a Dying MMO Aside, So far I think this collection is amazing (Haven't played everything yet). As someone who owned a Namco Museum disc back in the day, the framing is *perfect*.

Thoughts on assorted titles:

- Lorn's Lure
store.steampowered.com/app/141

A really intriguing title that felt a *lot* like NeisancE, but not demanding the same platforming perfection

- Peeb Adventures!
feverdreamjohnny.itch.io/peeb-

It's Eversion, but Spyro! Really cute, great movement options, would recommend.

- That Which Gave Chase

I'm noticing a lot of games are using the Blendo-esque quick cuts in their storytelling, and I'm for it. Not a lot here yet, but you can pet the dogs, and the atmosphere is top-notch

- The Lunar Effect
the-lunar-effect.com/

Classic horror adventure game with a classic dopey-ass main character in a haunted house. Your appreciation of this game is a 1:1 correlation with your patience for Pipe Dream.

Agony of a Dying MMO; Edgelord BS

Wow, talk about an exciting concept and premise that just completely has no empathy or engaging ideas.

I wandered into a church (after an intro that included what I chalked up to an exaggeration of edgelord bs being emulated in the 'chat window') that was said to be made in worship of a mass killer, and when I chose the dialogue option of "That's disgusting" I was told I didn't have to play.

So I didn't.

Fightgames; Community Building

Speaking of fighting games and cool queer critters, if you are at all interested in finding or helping build a queer fighting game community I have the discord for you!

discord.gg/pGtfqrw

It's welcoming to folks of any skill level, from "What's a fireball?" to "I am literally SonicFox" (Please note, SonicFox is not part of the community... YET). In fact I recently found and shared a great series of videos that go into what it means to have "good fundamentals" in a fighting game, and the steps to take in order to create a gameplan from which you can improve upon and learn from!

It's a pretty fun anime fighter. Just got to wait for rollback! For now: Parsec!

So an early access fighting game was released on Itch.io the other day, and this is the character select screen:

FGC gripe

"I'm mad at my opponent for beating me with random things, which I have deemed 'poor play'"

So... You're mad that you got mixed up or didn't otherwise account for a particular situation in your gameplan? How is that a failing of your opponent?

and then maybe they start reshaping you a bit, like a goo girl but your viscocity is at someone's command, and temperature

So... I think I'm getting the hand of how I can work with custom texture brushes to help make more textured materials. Still got a bit to go though :V

My road to grappler infatuation has completed.

For the longest time I've held off on playing grapplers because of the 360 inputs. I could never get them down. In Tekken 7 I picked up King (My first real love of fighting game characters), and enjoyed the grappler feel without a 360.

After the Guilty Gear Strive Beta, I tried Potemkin in Accent Core +R and fell into an even deeper love.

Recently I've been messing about with other titles, and trying out their grapplers (Victor in Darkstalkers, Hugo is 3rd Strike). I love them all, and they have allowed me an opportunity to learn the 360 input (on hitbox). (Fightgames be just learning and growth, yeah?)

I now unabashedly love all grapplers and will protect these huge himbos with my life.

re: Fightgames gush

There are at least 3 big-name fighting games coming out within the year that all have confirmed rollback, and I am unreasonably excited for all of them.

Fuck, A Melty Blood sequel was just announced *WITH ROLLBACK* and I just can't believe how amazing the future of fighting games looks to be right now.

it delights me when fighting game players are exactly as fucking weird as their mains: youtube.com/watch?v=zk7KEXsCZx

So I've been playing in a regional (WA, ID, OR) online monthly Guilty Gear league, and holy heck is this fulfilling some needs for me. I'm feeling incredibly excited about competing, and I'm constantly analyzing my play and game plan in an effort to improve. It's amazing.

Fightgames musings

So Leon Massey just released a video about the apparent Fighting Game malaise. A malaise that I was completely oblivious of because of my own excitement and passion for the potential future of this genre that Guilty Gear Strive represents, and how one can build a thriving community despite distance or quarantine (If you have good netcode)

I have no idea how you're supposed to apply "simple" texture brushes to one's digital art, so I guess I'm just going to start working on a repository of custom texture spheres for reference!

My tendency to overcomplicate problems continues.
