hot take about pleroma discourse
Non-technical people should not be accusing a software project of harboring Nazis just because two or three notoriously bad actors happen to use it. If you aren't actively involved in the development or organization of Pleroma or Mastodon as software, you really shouldn't be diving in to crusade for justice, because you don't have the context to have an informed opinion on the matter. You simply don't.
This isn't elitism: this is basic due diligence.
re: hot take about pleroma discourse
This isn't Twitter. Shouting angrily and farming clout is useless both here and there for addressing organizational issues. Here, you can actually involve yourself in the dialog between fediverse maintainers in a respectful way and have people listen to you, IF you listen to others in turn. But if you're just looking for an axe to grind, then kindly fuck off. Mob justice is neither necessary nor useful here.
