if you need any sort of consistently low input latency, do not use unity, I guess is the lesson here.

unity technologies has routinely demonstrated a lack of concern for the "ugly" aspects of the engine and focused purely on market reach and features.

sigh.

firing up the windows version of Hollow Knight and it becomes immediately obvious just how bad vsync impacts input latency in unity even on a 144hz display. it's really not clear to me why, it seems way more dramatic than it should be.
