Gears 5 makes me sad that investment in big budget single player is disappearing, because goddamn it's impressive

It's also a bit frustrating that Kait's arc in this game has no conclusion. We spend a hell of a lot of time in the middle of the story learning about her, only for her to be marginalized in the climax by a minor appearance of her grandmother and the final battle. They wrote this assuming players would play Gears 6, which I think is a tragic misstep given this game has such a great start.
JD and Fahz's arcs aren't quite tied up either, except by JD dying if you save Del.

In the "JD dies" path, I'm a little disappointed that we only briefly see Marcus's emotional response to having his son die. Let this man cry, for god's sake.
