@shaderphantom that seems... extreme to say the least? It'd explain why they split the game in half and made "lock-on technology" for literally one cartridge to finish the game properly tho
@yaodema yeah the prototype is dated essentially right after they split the game in half.
there was originally going to be a "Sonic 3 Limited Edition" which would end up as S3&K but I guess they wanted lock-on as a promotional novelty thing. it's not really expensive tech after all.
@shaderphantom wasn't even new! they borrowed it from bootleg carts for the NES.
can you imagine a modern AAA game on a 5 month cycle???
