re: discourse re: controversial individuals joining fedi

It sucks feeling like I'm make a stand that appears to be in defense of a dipshit like Jasonafex. But I still don't trust this witch-hunting shit that came over from Twitter months ago, at all.

yes, in the specifics of Jasonafex, I would personally ban him from an instance I'm a moderator of. His behavior is well documented and by that I would consider his presence a threat. Much like the Goldeneye runner who was suspended from GDQ.

But it's not like we can pretend that this hasn't also been an implicit justification of witch-hunting. And, not to point fingers, but from snouts particularly that's personally concerning to me. And I have lingering distrust that folks there are really acting in the best interest of fedi.

discourse re: controversial individuals joining fedi

I would like to know what jasonafex did _here_ to get suspended. I know he's a real wankstain, but if he was suspended just for that and not for actions on his instance, then I'm concerned that the incident in September is being justified too.

but actually I would rather be helping content creators integrate apub federation into their self-publishing sites so we don't see another tire fire like tumblr happen tbh

due to the name it will be assimilated into american football culture and the federated timeline will be filled with the indecipherable intersection of millennials and football shitposts

i'm gonna make federated tumblr and call it

digiconomist.net/bitcoin-energ

As of today, #Bitcoin uses more energy than the country of Peru and a little less than Hong Kong.

And most of the network is powered by Chinese coal plants.

Well, I've whittled down the scroll jumping issue. It's only when alt-tabbing, so it's specific to gnome-shell I suppose.

It seems like scroll events on the active window are accumulated while it is active, and like... replayed into the next active window on the first scroll event encountered. This causes a huge scroll jump in scrollable panels. But it doesn't happen if you just click into another window, only when alt-tabbing.

I have a bug with xinput2 in gnome/mutter where high-precision (two finger) scrolling on the touchpad seems to accumulate in each window and re-apply as soon as you scroll again

maybe this game is just really well paced with its open-world stuff if you're only interested in completing the main scenario? huh. I'm enjoying it a lot though.
