Reviewed the moderation logs and, oh crap, what happened now...

Yeah, see there's a site out there which is basically just falsified and out-of-context logs and screenshots to enable abusers. I'm not even going to name it, I don't want to drive traffic there.

And looking at what happened, I'm sad to see some people go, but I stand by the actions taken. We do not tolerate abuse. Period. Even when that stupid site cons someone into doing their trolling for them. *You're* responsible for your actions. Be good to people. It's all I ask.

This seems like a good time for a PSA:

If in the future you see something on a public-facing webpage you want to make a durable record of for use as evidence, don't take a screenshot. Those are -- understandably -- widely considered too easy to fabricate.

Instead, snapshot the page with the Internet Archive. It'll log a timestamped copy of the page to their servers. Highly tamper-resistant.

when they drove someone to suicide, one of their admins made a thread which started with something like:
"we are here to have fun, don't let your guilt over someone's death ruin that, just leave your conscience at the door"

you want a test of your community's resilience? this is it, right here, right now. you either actively support kiwi farms and their tactics, or you don't. there is very little room for a middle ground.

Believe it or not, I actually do think that there's a certain beautiful quality to mob violence against fash, cops, state accessories to murder, you should know the deal by now.

That being said, I've watched woke mobs go after various queer people and I'm convinced its participants know those targets are available and hurt by your behavior in a way that others are not.

You don't want to hurt them because they deserve it, but because you can palpably enjoy their suffering.

We are now battling a multidimensional version of that poem's reality, with multiple different attacks on multiple different fronts. It is absolutely criminal, should be unthinkable, for anyone who DARES calling themselves anything even remotely resembling socially left, to side with the explicit murderers on ANY of them.
