I went to a rowing class at the marina today and, listen I’ve been to some white spaces, but this may have taken the cake. Like you could’ve cast all the villains of an 80s college movie just out of the club members at this place. Think like, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Scent of a Woman. My instructor for the evening, nice guy, but he could play a double for the coach of Cobra Kai from the original Karate Kid.
@Tanuki my mom got really into rowing over the last few years and she loves it so much, it’s been great for her to get out on the water almost every day. Although the experience of a 50+ y/o lesbian rowing in a very lesbian area might be a little different from yours—I haven’t seen a single turtleneck, just fleece pullovers and windburned faces
@smallesttiger ‘very lesbian area’ describes my regular gym, haha. Now I am trying various things to see what else there is. Rowing was more fun than ‘spinning’ — tonight I try a level 1 yoga class.
