No Man's Sky has finally got to the point where the price / feature set balance is worth it so I bought it. (The fact that I needed more distractions this week helped.)
Anyway it's super pretty, and the gameplay and plot are engaging enough that I already have 13 hours put in in 3 days. It's definitely worth it now because it's essentially Starbound with amazing graphics. I paid $20 for Starbound. $25 for NMS is definitely a good price.
Would very much not pay $60 tho.
Earlier today I heard another telling of the story of Sedna.
And the woman who sang it reminded me that Sedna wasn't born to godhood. She was betrayed, sank to the bottom of the sea, and through the sheer rage against the men who had wronged her she grasped divinity.
May your anger also pierce the veil of mortality.
Not Actually Lewd
Earlier today I was at a coffee shop and dropped a needle somewhere on me. So of course I went and slowly felt for it by running my hands over my dress down my entire body. It wasn't under I got between my legs that I realized it looks like I was touch myself in public and I was internally screaming "no I am not masturbating I'm just trying to find my tiny needle" but I didn't say that out loud thank goodness.
Epilogue: The needle was indeed between my legs.
Yesterday I found out that someone in one of my social circles (X) no longer participates regularly because of a specific person in the group that X didn't name.
I have a suspicion that I am said person because I'm pretty sure X is a Standard Conservative Christian (neither of those words actual meanings actually describe this kind of person but you know what I mean) and my mere existence can drive people like that away.
Part of me is feeling bad about this even though it shouldn't.
Islamic Art Drawing Tools
I really like parametric tools like this, where the history and rules of constructing something is interactively adjustable.
This particular one was developed as a side effect of Engare, a game by Mahdi Bahrami about motion and geometry.

Gone Home Spoilers, All of Them
New Polygon article on dead lesbians in video games ( https://www.polygon.com/2017/8/4/16090980/life-is-strange-death-lgbtq-characters ) reminds me why I love Gone Home:
The premise of finding out what happened to 1) a queer couple in 2) the 90s in a 3) video game like holy fuck screw the storm and the old house this is way the fuck more terrifying than any monster or lovecraft shit because everything can go wrong.
But then nobody died and there's a happy ending.
Okay unanticipated problem with dress: I have to obtain extra consent from everyone I hug while wearing it because craft herpes is spread via hugs.
stack of illusions and glamours and dreams piled up on top of a fox type thing // they/them, or she/her when exactly three corvids are present
