@thefishcrow <3
@thefishcrow when it comes to testing, they never do care how you come to an answer, but that you do, and consistently, so that's something you've got going for you always. far as classtime shenanigans go, i couldn't say really and here's exactly why my grades were shit and test scores off the charts but probably pull your instructor aside and talk to them if your working style becomes a problem. it really shouldn't matter; ideally it won't.
@thefishcrow ;__; i wish i could cradle yr dome right now. you are very determined and so you will get this, i have every faith.
also holy fuck i just saw the area model of long division.
finding the approach to a problem that feels right to you makes a huge difference and no teacher i ever had growing up seemed to get that.
@thefishcrow wait what happened
@thefishcrow you're very welcome
@thefishcrow brb gonna think about manually looped cassette tapes for six hours
@thefishcrow computers aren't the best for a lot of things and recording is one of them
@thefishcrow if you use audacity you can playback any recording on loop with shift+space
@thefishcrow (that one way is by drilling into yr carnegie melon ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy)
@jennatar @girlfiend analogous to keeping hotsauce in the purse. they ain't all gonna know what you like, so
@thefishcrow only one way to get to carnegie hall
@thefishcrow yyyeeeeaaaahhhhh
@thefishcrow i'm trying to remember and explain what my brain does. usually i factor ugly numbers to prettier ones and divide by each of those in turn. like, dividing something by 35 i'll divide by 5 and then 7 or vice versa depending. just kinda always look for the numbers you're most comfortable with. i can do eights and dozens in my sleep. 7s though? i'm about ready to reach for the paper.
@thefishcrow no problem. division's the worst!
@thefishcrow multiply all of everything by 10^x with "x" being whatever number it takes to get rid of all the decimals, then divide as normal, then divide by that same 10^x from before to get your final result. just make all the ugly go away, it's totally allowed.
