if it's an ac plug going straight from the case to the mains then it's ac/dc but this route's still an option i think

@thefishcrow yeah! in that case, the power supply is that board with all the fat capacitors on it, it looked like a dc-dc at a glance before -- is there an external ac adapter brick that plugs in?
