lately i've been incredibly unsatisfied creatively
today i watched crochet tutorial series by @WelshPixie
scrounged up smol thread (old bracelet kit; no yarn handy) + smol crochet hook (asst. hooks from last attempt to learn crochet; +5 years of excellent toothpickery)
here's my first granny square!
i only practiced a very tiny bit so technically this is shit; but it's MY shit and holds together and pretty colors!
@WelshPixie
thank you! it's only because of your clear explanations :3
well, and i've previous experience knitting, and tried crochet before (it just didn't 'click' then), and played around with paracord bracelets and other super basic knotwork, so a lot of that was applicable here too i think XD
if i ever do more, though, i'll definitely have to drill the basics until my butt falls off - everything looks like a meaningless tangle, i still can't quite trace the anatomy x.x
next gonna do a layer of pink and then sit around feeling incredibly pleased with myself for having Done A Thing, however poorly XD
like, the tension is all over the place and i'm not quite convinced i'm not doing something backwards and i've lost the thread about a thousand times
but the square is still squarish and not falling apart and i could actually make something out of many squares
no matter how shabby, it still works WELL ENOUGH for now and it scratched my textiles itch
