<< I spent a good part of 2 years reporting on ISIS internet and how the group uses social media — in 2019 it's mind-boggling to me how well the coordinated cross-platform effort to remove them from the internet worked and how there hasn't been a similar one for white supremacists.>>
re: ISIS vs white supremacist internet
ISIS's usage of western #technology is functional to hurt the western states and culture, recruiting weak people to use as cheap weapons and so on.
There's nothing the US controlled corporations can get from ISIS people... not even much intelligence as they are generally trained to not leak data or trust "the evil empire".

#WhiteSupremacist instead are #MilkingCows like others. They can be surveilled and manipulated.
Moreover, in #Italy during the #ColdWar, the USA intelligence leart how useful rigth extremists can be (and how easy they are to manipulate, decades before #EchoChambers were conceived) to cause tensions and fear, useful to restrict people's #freedom and #privacy.

(Exists only in Italian, guess why?)

Non sequitur.
There's no relation between skin color, sex, gender... and dumbness, shortsightedness and malevolence.
The explanation of the difference in effort at fighting these form of extremisms is easy to understand if you consider who control the global narration and infrastructure of the #Internet.
#ISIS is literally a state at #war with #USA.
It's closed to their cultural #hegemony and #market.
