katt's opinions about ghosts
1: some portion of phenomena attributed to ghosts do represent activities of non-material beings.
2: A substantial portion of phenomena attributed to ghosts have sociological, material, or psychogenic causes.
3: "Ghost" is a super narrow cultural construction. Trying to understand a wide variety of subjective experiences only through that framework is a mistake and impedes understanding.

the closest equivalent spice is paprika. It's not actually that hot, just very distinctive.

This was a 2.93G landing. Turns out high-G landings are exciting! Also driving in high-G is super bouncy fun. https://awoo.space/media/SWDZSJT8nFcnYYhc65M
Hey @CoronaCoreanici I've been curious for a while now: Monster Truck Buddhism?
difference between dependence and addiction
Oh btw this seems like a good opportunity for a quick note:
Substance dependence and substance addiction are distinct things.
Dependence is "stop using the substance, and the body will be physiologically unhappy and might feel some manner of unpleasant."
Addiction is "great difficulty or inability to stop using the substance despite wanting to."
They often come together, but I think the distinction is important.
Elite Dangerous is very, very big
I continue to be absolutely astounded that the devs said "Sure, we can make the entire milky way galaxy, actual size and with the full stellar population."
And players looked at that and said "Cool. Let's be explorers and cartographers and figure out the farthest reaches of where we can go."
Even though this is just the context of a videogame, humans are amazing.

I've visited over 600 star systems and traveled 2,860 light-years away from Sol. My focus has been on exploration for a while now.
...and this is how far out into the galaxy I've been: red lines, bottom. https://awoo.space/media/2vcdWxuCji8Om3pXs3o
I'd actually be fairly irritated if someone described me as falling under the category "spiritual but not religious".
Like, sure, I don't follow any one tradition or god or pantheon or structured practice. To me though, whatever this thing I have is, it still very much feels like it falls under the umbrella of "religion".
To describe my beliefs as "spiritual but not religious" feels like making "organized" a defining feature of religion, which, no.
