Okay Seattle, do you have any cafe recommendations?
Places that are good for:
-getting actual food
-hanging out and taking for a while without feeling weird about it
Right now I go to Rain Cafe a lot which is great but I'd like more options. I know Jewel Box is popular but ime they're crowded and not actually that good food/drink.
you don't get to write that off just bc you have preconceptions about the mobility aid.
lots of people talk about how autonomous vehicles could be amazingly transformative for us disabled people who can't rly use public transport currently, either by making it accessible or by enabling safe taxis that don't have a risk of doing a hate crime on you, or not having to know how to drive to be able to get a motability vehicle
you don't have to worship elon to want autonomous vehicles
if your activism ignores the ways disability communities value the prospect of mobility aids,
and you tell them that they should just get more help from strangers instead........
you're ableist. sorry
"just get help from someone" is THE most commonly trotted out "solution" abled people think of, for everything
it's not fucking helpful
a lot of times it's at least a privacy invasion
"look just give up on being independent, idk why this is so hard for you??????" is NOT a solution

Okay, I am getting questions about who Lance Ulanoff is. Time for some Mastodon history.
Exactly a year ago today, Lance Ulanoff opened his article about Mastodon with this phrase:
"William Shatner couldn't find me on Mastodon.
This was a problem."
That was the day Mastodon became a shatner-proof network.
