Cyberpunk 2077

What really gets me about a lot of cyberpunk stuff is the forced idea of "the more cybernetic you become the less human you are"

Not only is this ablism but it shows that cyberpunk is all about using transhumanism as an aesthetic just to preach against it. At least Shadowrun took a total turn from that idea, so far cyberpunk hasn't.

@MnemonicLight It's weird, because "replacement parts make you less human" seems like it's been an increasingly outdated idea for a while.

It feels more like something out of the 60s/70s when folks were freaking out about the first artificial organ replacements and such.

@treehat Yea, it's a very ablist idea which doesn't make sense for a cyberpunk setting because the whole point of cyberpunk is the disenfranchised rising up against the corporate masters.
