i just watched a video where a marginal connection was being caused by the way the board was physically flexing slightly while being held or while being connected to a cartridge. i dont think it would even be possible to build that into a circuit simulator lmao

Current state of play on the new custom character controller. Plenty left to work on but already feeling really good to play with and handling "awkward" scenarios better than prior attempts with the out-of-the-box options.

I finished my custom N64 controller today! This is basically the first time I ever custom painted any game controller, and while I definitely made a few mistakes, I’m pretty happy with the result!

"I use TCP as my protocol," I state proudly to the unkempt, bearded man. He swivels around in his desk chair with a devilish gleam in his eyes, ready to mansplain with extreme precision. "Actually", he says with a grin, "TCP is just the transport layer. You use TCP/IP!' I don't miss a beat and reply with a smirk, "My physical layer uses a separate addressing scheme that isn't IP. It's TCP, but it's not TCP/IP."
The smile quickly drops from the man's face. His body begins convulsing and he foams at the mouth and drops to the floor with a sickly thud. As he writhes around he screams "I-IT USES ADDRESSING! THAT MEANS IT'S STILL IP!" Coolly, I reply "If I2C uses a scheme involving addressing, would that make it IP?" I interrupt his response with "-and more protocols are being designed. Even if you were correct, you won't be for long."
With a sickly wheeze, the last of the man's life is ejected from his body. He lies on the floor, cold and limp. I've womansplained him to death.
