probably the worst thing social media ever did was erase a sense of enclosed spaces. everyone goes into the same room. which is a huge problem when so much human social interaction requires context
you don’t announce your wedding at a funeral, but when it’s the same room and people are having weddings and funerals and everything else, I think a lot of conflict springs out of “why are you doing Y in the room I’m using for X?” “well, it’s only the one room, and I need somewhere to Y”
"hubristic" is one of my favorite words. unrelatedly, i am completely infallible and my power will soon surpass even that of god

in today's "oh im Old old" moment, i learned the first episode of Is It A Good Idea to Microwave This? (a youtube show i watched as a youth) is 16 years old. i know people who are younger than that show

@silver_leaf i mean if you have the mana open to cast the wurm then it's fine, it's just with stuff like selvala where you don't know for sure if you'll have enough to cast it but the mana ability is irreversible that it becomes a problem
