I understand it's much different for me, but I often think the same thing of myself. It is awful, sometimes, to feel so trapped in something one understand how to even begin to appreciate.

My vanity and obsession with fashion and presentation is how I distract myself from my body. It's like another skin to live in.

Seriously, though--I understand that feeling. It's awful because it comes from inside you, the one place you think should know better because it has the most clear perspective of yourself.

But it is also the most subjective, because it cannot see what you do for others, what you bring to the world.

Don't let this skewed vision define you.
