i don't REALLY want to play cities skylines, i want professional traffic simulation software but as a game
and i haven't seen a mod that fixes the underlying scale issue that bothers me so much. i suspect it might be difficult to change something so deep down within the core of the game without changing that actual source code
and sure there's mods that will let me manually move every piece of road with pinpoint precision, but if i make it look even close to realistic then it comes out all cursed and causes rendering issues and weird bugs with the driving simulation
real life highways merge in long stretches where the small road slowly matches the angle of the big road then seamlessly merges into it; but cities skylines always treats it like a regular junction, and doesn't let the roads get close enough to each other to truly merge
i looked at some 3d models of the real life city i live in and its various roadways and highways and it cemented in my head the idea that Cities: Skylines needs narrower roads, and highway merges/splits at less obtuse angles
autism?, alc, cishet men on podcasts, i am friggin amazed by this innocuous thing
just casually listening to the latest episode of william osmans chaotic podcast, and i am just in awe from this one fragment of an exchange that just perfectly encapsulates everything

like i had to pause the podcast and stop whatever i was doing just to sit there gaping and processing this for several seconds, and now i'm typing out this post in like,,,, a rush of amazement and validation, from a real allistic person finally confirming something i've been suspecting for the past half a year or so
allistic people really do just want to: not learn, get drunk, and meet new people

maybe the solution i need is wearing foam earplugs, with in-ear noise cancelling earphones on top, then over-ear noise cancelling headphones on top of that, and gigantic over-ear earmuffs(?) around my entire head with the added bonus of also completely blocking my entire field of view

also it would come in handy next time there's a combined lockdown + protests + war + no internet + whatever else this god damn country/region/continent/planet comes up with next
several 1080i video streams!!!! and they're just!!!!! floating in the air!!!!!!!!!! for free and funded by taxes alone!!!!!!!!!!! amazing; incredible; unbelievable; truly the future
tomorrow i'll go buy a tv antenna because antennas were a mild interest of mine at some point, and because the idea of hd broadcast tv is incredibly cool to me despite never watching broadcast anything
