As an aside, re: politics, my OFA fellowship training yesterday was fantastic. <3 Lots of really dedicated folks who are working towards real change going forward.
Politics
*In my lifetime*, that flag has not stood for any of the things it claims to be. There have been good moments, but far too few.
I honor the individuals that serve humanity through kindness, and I work so that we may someday become what I hope we can.
Until that time comes, I will fly no flag.

Saw a quote on twitter that made me put a few thoughts together
"Patriotism isn't about making everyone stand and salute the flag. Patriotism is about making this a country where everyone wants to."
I responded as follows:
To be honest, I don't think I can even look at it until it starts to mean the things it's always made out to be.
And I know that's a hell of a statement, but it's just not something I can do in good conscience. And it hurts that I have to say that. >.<

Super excited for the start of my OFA training on Saturday. :) Time to start making a difference.
Oof. Apparently this week took a lot out of me. Work up at 10:30, ate, slept until 3:00ish, ate, just slept until 6:00. O.o;

TFW a kitty is snuggled into your lap and you kiss her head and her one paw stretches juuuust a little bit. ;_;
