You know this whole stuff brings up another thing. Not everyone is like, prepared to be a parent. Like, that's kind of an epidemic in this country. The normal response to finding out your kid is trans, even if you don't "get it" is, "okay, I still love you, how can I help?"

I don't want to single Natalie's parents out here because it's a systemic issue with how children are valued in the US (By a sad number of parents, as investments). But, they stole her medication. This is public record. They literally stole her prescribed HRT meds from her.

I don't think this applies to most parents in America, at all. But I think it's a much bigger problem than anyone is aware of and I think it's evidenced by the amount of parents who are willing to choose transphobia over their own children's well being and livelihood.

& yeah, I just refuse to believe trans people are at a higher risk of having emotionally immature parents. I think it's that, emotionally immature parents react spectularly horrendously to trans kids, thus showing us that there's a hidden epidemic of emotionally immature parents

@BinaryVixen899 Additionally, trans* kids come into life with a tough emotional challenge to deal with. And emotionally immature parents can't give them the tools to handle it well, because they haven't got 'em to share. So you have a setup for things to go perfectly horrible when they eventually do come into conflict over it.

And yeah there's, complications because of society's rampant transphobia but also like. I just refuse to believe that well adjusted emotionally mature parents respond to their kid being trans by doing stuff like kicking them out or stealing their HRT meds or etc.
