systemd-homed is cool, actually. Maybe I set it up funny (my home folder IS a partition, and a loopback device, so space unused is reserved and looks Weird), but it's cool knowing it's portable. Next reinstall should go smoother. Knock on wood.

Wait hold the phone, if Flatpak's user installation dumps all user data to a .var folder under ~, doesn't that mean that I could be up and running by just installing all apps on install? Everything should Just Work™️, right?

"installing all apps on install".
why word too many speak word the word, , talk

@CloverChrome oh wow this is actually useful! plan on distro hopping soon so this is a really useful tool

@CloverChrome as someone who distrohopped with flatpaks, more or less yes

@CloverChrome honestly most applications that dump configs into the home folder work right out of the box

the only exception i've ran into is firefox, which for some reason insists creating a new user profile

i think you can import user profiles though, or at least rename the folder where it's stored in, so that's the only thing i ran into that requires that lol

@EeveeEuphoria that's awesome! I may actually try more distros this way. I've been eyeing NixOS for a while.
