so far being on awoo.space is giving interesting insights into how mastodon the software handles federation between mastodon instances. for instance. accounts on mastodon.social show up on awoo.space as having only as many posts, follows, and followers which were created/obtained since awoo.space went live[i think?].

Follow

for instance, @envgen displays as having 3 follows, 3 followers, and 8 posts. I can only scroll through, fav, boost, those 8 posts. If I look at the standalone profile page I can see all the other posts etc. but since you can't fav/boost from the standalone profile page, I can't interact with any posts older than those 8.

@Gargron it's by person? not by instance? interesting. so unless i or someone else refollows everyone i follow on mastodon.social, i won't see any of those people's posts on the public timeline? that's certainly different from how gnusocial handles it.

@Gargron it certainly makes awoo.space feel very peaceful and quiet. right now it feels like i'm going camping or visiting a seaside cottage to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

@envgen thanks, i'm cute and things i do are cute
