Our work slack has a "random" channel where folks are encouraged to just be themselves. Someone pointed out the Tucker Carlson Metric System video, and the sarcastic responses just started rolling in. Someone said "oh, I the sarcasm is so thick in here, I love it."

I said, "I actually find it kinda frustrating. Sarcasm requires that people be able to intuit when a statement doesn't mean what it says, I have very little talent for that and building skill takes time."

There hasn't been a follow-up comment in forty-five minutes and I'm twisting wondering if I should apologize or leave or post some kind of distraction.

I don't want to be seen as killing other people's fun, but I don't think a lot of those people realize their fun was potentially at someone's expense and I had briefly worried that someone had responded to the video with a 💯 in sincerity.

Allistic people, a little help. What's the right next step here that's not going to get me fired?

@orrery Ignore it and move on; anything else would likely be awkward.
