Power was restored, worst of the latest wave of the storm passed by without too much damage. The food was lost, but that was inevitable.
Doctor's appointment wasn't terrible to get to. Result was: Inconclusive, more tests needed. Tests will be unpleasant.
I very much appreciate all the kindness you've all shown me. Sorry to worry you all.

There's still about a week left of the rain, but it's turning out to be more "constant low level piddle" than "UNHINGED MEGA CLOUDBURST" the way it was previously.
And either fortunately or unfortunately, the doctor thing is more "Well. This could either be nothing, or it could be extremely bad. To figure this out, we're going to have to do something that hurts you a lot".
I guess it's better to know than to not.
(Aside, though - I have plenty of other "Huh, I dunno. Let's throw darts at a board" conditions, so I know what you mean. They suck!)
