The frustration of being an artist (boundries of interests and inspiration)

Oh boy, I LOVE making chairs.
I make damn fine chairs!
I love making them, I've got a fanbase for em, I'm branching out into benches and stools. It's cool.

"Oh hey, I LOVE how you do chairs, I'd like you to make something for me!"
Sure cool!
"Here's money, I'll give you details in a bit!"
Oh, well, maybe it'll be a weird couch but sure, no one else has show interest yet-

Oh. It's a fucking desk. Like sure, okay but there's folks around here who make really cool desks and I don't care much about desk design but OKAY HERE WE FUCKING GO.

The moral of this analogy, don't be grumpy at an artist for not meeting your expectations when you ask them to draw way outside their standard content. ESPECIALLY on discounted prices.

@Draekos This is why we always try to commission artists we personally know on some level, we want to make sure we know what they're comfortable with and what they enjoy doing

On that note if we ever commission you and ask for something that you don't feel confident in or just don't think you'll enjoy working on, just let us know, I assure you we have dozens of other ideas that we want to get drawn too

@Felthry this is why I try to insist on getting stuff like commission forms submitted before I okay the work. I am able to say no to the idea before money even hits the table.

Every time I say "oh it'll be fine if I skip this step" it isn't. But I keep making that mistake.
