the gameboy's echo ram is so weird. Like, why bother with it?
@monorail come to think of it I wonder if it is actually physical RAM or if it's just a bit of the address space that refers back to the same physical RAM as the WRAM
@Felthry I'm fairly sure it's the same physical ram being pointed at (I just watched a video about this yesterday :P)
I saw someone suggest that there might have been plans to eventually use those addresses for something else, but in that case, why include it in the first place? You can discourage developers from using it all you want but you know that switching it to something else will break /something/. Why not just make reads FF or 00 and writes fail?
