It's always odd to be reminded that some countries don't have a symbol for their currency. And even odder to realize just how many currencies can share the same symbol; the USD, CAD, AUD, Singaporean dollar, Taiwanese dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Brazilian real, and probably other currencies too all use the $ symbol. (to be fair, some of them use other letters in combination; one Brazilian real is written R$1, for example)
