It's weird to consider just how many ways a microwave oven can seriously injure you if you take it apart. Powering up a magnetron without its waveguides on is a surefire way to do _something_ bad to you, the transformer gives you such high voltage and at pretty substantial current, just having a leaky microwave can cause cataracts over time, and that's not to even mention the fact that magnetrons often contain beryllium which is _ridiculously_ poisonous
