Probably one of the best games you've never heard of. Unfortunately, it's been so long since we've played it that we can't remember much of the story, but the gameplay is solid, and the music is outstanding.

This theme, called just Build Theme 1 as far as I can tell, plays during the pre-battle stage of the early levels as Lock constructs fortifications in the face of the oncoming enemy horde.

This particular piece seems to take the form of a theme and variations on a motif that is common between all the build themes in some form or another. Having not played the game in years, I hesitate to call it a leitmotif, but I think it may be a leitmotif for either the idea of building, or for the Archineers who do that building.

This game has quite a few motifs in its music, and I feel like many of them are leitmotifs, even if I'm not sure for what.

While I'm at it, have a link to a playlist of the complete soundtrack. It's worth a listen. Watch out for spoilers in the comments!

It's not that hard a game to get ahold of today, probably because no one seems to know it existed. There was a remake in 2015 for the PS4, xbox one, and PC, but it's by all accounts an awful port; go for the DS version.

@SCP1471 It's a pretty good game, I think! We ought to play it again sometime.
