it's interesting that we can reconstruct the names of some ancient deities just because it turns out religions are related too, just like languages are, and the names Jupiter, Zeus (pater), Dyáuṣ Pitṛ́ (of Vedic mythology)

the word *dyḗws alone also gave us the words for both "supernatural or godlike being" (deus in latin, daeva in avestan, devá in sanskrit, etc) and "day" (dies in latin, day in english, etc) due to both being associated with the sky
