@Dogwood I ended up getting the minecraft server running, but now I have a few issues with it and players can't connect; are you able to help with that too or should I ask around?
@Felthry I'd love to help! What specific issues are you noticing?
@Dogwood So, the other player (I haven't tried yet but am starting minecraft now) can't connect, with a timed out error each time they try.
Additionally, the forge console shows the average tick time occasionally spiking up to quite a high number, sometimes as high as 800 ms, which has me a little concerned about how it'll work
it can usually stay below 20, but there are a lot of can't keep up messages in the log
@Dogwood update: I also get the connection timed out thing, it just boots me off the server. I get a single frame of seeing the world and then it kicks me off.
@Felthry I found this youtube video about timeout errors, dunno if it'll help your specific issue

any log output in Ngrok that might be helpful?
@Dogwood uh, I actually ended up using zerotier instead of ngrok since it looked a lot easier to use, is that a problem?
@Felthry I'm unfamiliar with Zerotier -- not a problem, just dunno much about it
Here's a reddit thread about exactly this issue though https://www.reddit.com/r/zerotier/comments/b65xwp/trying_to_play_minecraft_lan_using_zerotier/
@Dogwood fortunately (since the verdict there seems to be "nothing you can do"), it seems like the problem that post is about is not the one that we have here.
