Fediverse, tell me about the best villains/antagonists from fiction that you know of! books, movies, video games, just any antagonist that sticks out as better than most
@Felthry do you want boosts, too?

@packbat sure!
@Felthry https://practicalguidetoevil.wordpress.com -- how the villains are saving the world, whether the world wants to be saved or not. most of the main characters are self-identified villains, it's very long and *hilarious*, I have talked this one up many many times and I will never ever stop. it's got a lot of graphic violence, but it has even more deep, insightful discussions of morality, politics, culture, tradition, economics, and just about everything else. it's *good stuff*.
I have a big ol' thing for MCU Loki. it's a big, complicated thing, but I know I'm not the only one who has it... XD
could probably think of a lot more if I wasn't tired, sorry, heh.
Michael Clayton spoilers, death mention
@Felthry I think the antagonist in "Michael Clayton" (2007) - Karen Crowder, played by Tilda Swinton - was really unusual in a good way? She was an anxious person struggling to cope with a difficult situation ... who chose to cope with it by doubling down again and again on a literally murderous strategy for dealing with it.
