it occurs to me that with how they trap and digest the pollinating wasp, figs sound a lot like one of those weird random "notes" sections you get when you scan a plant in No Man's Sky

or maybe humor is the wrong word, but just the way it matter-of-factly states stuff like gender: asymmetric or formation process: localised black hole is just really good
