I wonder if the popularity of Nintendo's new Clubhouse Games is going to lead to a surge in popularity of games like shogi, hanafuda, and riichi mahjong in the west?

I imagine this is many people's first experience with them, since they're primarily popular in Japan and environs. It's certainly our first time playing any of them, and we've found we enjoy all three. We're actually, surprisingly enough, *good* at hanafuda, at least good enough to reliably beat the best AI clubhouse games offers. We haven't played against another sapient being yet. And we're not any good at shogi or riichi mahjong, but they're enjoyable enough to play.

If anyone does want to play against us, in those or any other games in the pack, feel free to ask. I think that could be fun.

@dodec We have a therapy appointment in a few minutes, but would be glad to play with you later.

@Felthry I didn't mean right away, either. I'm still at work. Tonight would work, though.
