berry of choice
@IceWolf i'm pretty sure pumpkins and watermelons are also berries in the botanical sense
-F
@IceWolf oh eggplant is also a berry
-F
@Felthry blackberry.
Grows all over the place into giant brambles as a nuisance plant in the PNW.
@starkatt they're good berries, yeah
we're partial to blueberries, personally. would love to try lingonberry sometime though. Never had it and it's supposedly really good.
(i mostly made this poll to surprise people with increasingly esoteric berries until finally reaching bananas, which are technically a berry but almost no one who isn't a botanist knows that. pumpkins and watermelons being berries is well known as a weird bit of trivia but for some reason bananas aren't usually mentioned)

@Felthry I did learn a thing today!
@starkatt it's kind of wild the kinds of things that are technically berries
like eggplants. would you put eggplant in a mixed-berries pie? i certainly hope not. but it's still a berry!

@Felthry @starkatt I've had pancakes with lingonberry preserves on them and they were SO. DAMN. GOOD. ... and now I'm kind of drooling a little, heh. XD
we also have salmonberries up here; they bloom earlier in the season than blackberries, they're little orangey-yellow things, and they taste pretty bleh tbh. but they're native, so I'm always happy to see them pushing their way up through the invasive Himalayan blackberry brambles...
@Felthry I am disappointed "blackberry" is not one of the choices. :|
@Felthry Okay I know three of these... /bananas/? Neat!
