i wonder how easy it'd be to adapt the all-american five (a five-tube radio design that was really popular in north america) to a five-transistor radio

then again one of the tubes was a pentagrid converter and i don't think you can copy that using just one transistor

...but also one of them was the rectifier diode so maybe you could use two transistors for the converter and still have a total of five if you don't count the diode as a transistor (which pretty much no one would anyway)
