we had our first appointment with our new psychiatrist yesterday

brought up how we want to try to replace the SSRI with an SNRI and he seems to be on board with the idea, told us to do some research on an SNRI called venlafaxine... anyone here ever been on that?

@Felthry

I have. I was on venlafaxine for several years, through the end of grad school. It helped me a lot, although it takes a few weeks of daily doses to ramp up to its full effect (and you really don't want to miss a day). I'm not on any psych meds any more, but I definitely understand now how much of a help they can be.

@Felthry

Not really. The worst aspect was how my mood would tank if I missed a day, but as long as I stayed on top of that it helped my mood and anxiety issues a lot.

@dodec Hmm! we're trying to get off of the SSRI we're on because SSRI's side effects include limiting the range of emotion--we've not felt truly excited for anything in years

@packbat uhh, no thank you, i'd prefer to hear about it from friends specifically
