so we just learned that zelda 1, possibly unintentionally, actually made it so that hiding in the corner of the room is safer than being out in the open in the middle

enemies will randomly target either link or the position directly opposite link, switching randomly every few frames, so if link is near the middle, his position and opposite-position are close together and all the enemies target somewhere near link, but near the edge some of them go the wrong way entirely
